Post-Doctoral Fellowship

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Post-Doctoral Fellow, Center for Functional Anatomy & Evolution The Center for Functional Anatomy & Evolution invites applicants for a full-time, two-year post-doctoral fellowship. 

The Functional Anatomy and Evolution Program has often had a Postdoctoral Fellow in residence for the academic year, with teaching responsibilities in our anatomy courses. Successful applicants had generally completed all requirements for their PhD degree by the time of the appointment, and had previous experience in teaching dissection-based human anatomy, along with good computer skills.

Primary responsibilities include participating in the teaching of an eight-week dissection-based course in clinically oriented human gross anatomy and maintaining active research within the Center.

Preferred candidates will:

1) hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree by the start date,

2) demonstrate an ability and enthusiasm for teaching human anatomy to pre-clinical medical and biomedical graduate students, and

3) conduct research that complements the interests of the Center’s faculty and graduate students. Research fields that would be considered include, but are not limited to, comparative/functional anatomy, clinical anatomy, evo/devo, systematics/comparative methods, biological anthropology, and vertebrate paleontology.
